Contrecoeur is a film using fantastic realism to talk about psychology, drift and love. Three characters must define themselves in an enclosed space, a truck trapped in a snowstorm, and dream of somewhere else to find each other.

An intelligent woman keeps falling for the wrong guy. With her latest lover David and a kilo of cocaine in her purse she barely escaped an arrest. Back in Holland she starts a B&B. Her first guest is the attractive Aziz, who wants to steal an old Moroccan mosaic at the International Art Fair.

A story of good versus evil revolving around a young woman. When Angela is born to David and Sara they are full of joy but as she grows up, she proves to be more of a curse than a blessing. Angela herself is confused and is only sure of one thing ... she doesn't want the dark powers which she cannot control.

Some gnomes are searching for a wonderful spider that weaves webs of golden coins. Intent on their search, they are unaware that their movements are closely followed by a poor woodcutter, who also penetrates into their caves when they have caught the spider and imprisoned it there. He watches the wonderful spider making gold and other articles with wonder and in this scene the moving picture camera has excelled itself in turning out some good tricks, and finally he steals the golden spider. In 1993, Sam Fuller takes Jim Jarmusch on a trip into Brazil's Mato Grosso, up the River Araguaia to the village of Santa Isabel Do Morro, where 40 years before, Zanuck had sent Fuller to scout a location and write a script for a movie based on a tigrero, a jaguar hunter. Sam hopes to find people who remember him, and he takes film he shot in 1954. He's Rip Van Winkle, and, indeed, a great deal changed in the village. There are televisions, watches, and brick houses. But, the same Karajá culture awaits as well. He gathers the villagers to show his old film footage, and people recognize friends and relatives, thanking Fuller for momentarily bringing them back to life.
