On a quiet evening, the spectral White Lady Slavěna and her ghostly painter beloved Tomáš shelter the orphaned cook Fanynka from pursuing robbers, despite the enchanted knight Slavoj’s powerless protests. When robber chief Borek infiltrates the castle in disguise and uncovers the truth, he vows to destroy the ghosts and claim the fortress for himself.
