Wheeler Dealers

Pimp My Ride is a TV show produced by MTV. Each episode consists of taking one car in poor condition and restoring it, as well as customizing it. The original American version was hosted by rapper Xzibit. Recently, MTV2 has begun airing episodes from Pimp My Ride UK hosted by DJ Tim Westwood, which features cars being customised in the UK, and Pimp My Ride International, featuring cars in central Europe, hosted by hip hop artists Fat Joe and Lil' Jon, as well as the related CMT series Trick My Truck.

The programme follows petrol head friends, Will Trickett and GT Porsche photographer, Gus Gregory, as they fix and 'flip' neglected old cars for a profit. Having ditched their day jobs to trade in the cars that people avoid, they're risking it all as any losses will come out of their own pockets. To cover any overheads, they must double their return on every pound invested in the vehicles they buy.

It's all about turning piles of rusting junk into a money making machine. To make this happen, Andy Cohen has to be a scrappy, ambitious leader who balances his own pie-in-the-sky drive with his father's down-to-earth perspective. For the day-to-day work, he's backed up by a group of talented, but not exactly mainstream, characters. And to succeed as a team, they all have to find the proverbial diamonds in the rough, chase down deals, and add value to what others throw away--it's not work, it's the hustle.

Mike is taking on his toughest challenge yet, as he turns his attention to people who lack the know-how or resources to get their dream motor. With the help of former McLaren Racing mechanic Marc 'Elvis' Priestley, the Wheeler Dealers team will be tackling re-sprays and full vehicle transformations. Each episode sees Mike and Elvis meet a new client and find inventive ways to add value to their existing vehicle, before flipping it for a profit and reinvesting the proceeds in a series of trade-ups that result in a dream car. From auction houses and salvage yards, to the mechanical workshop, Mike and Elvis will be lifting the lid on the secrets of trading up, sharing their expertise on how to add value, read markets and make deals to score the ultimate motor.
