Hilbard was a Danish film director and screenwriter, renowned for his contributions to Danish cinema, particularly in the comedy and erotic genres. He began his career in the film industry in the 1950s and gained prominence in the 1970s. Hilbard is best known for directing the "Bedside" series (Sengekanten), a collection of eight films produced between 1970 and 1976.
