Biography
Amora Moreira, a carioca artist and self-declared “visual sampler”, creates works that mix multiple cultural sources, such as Rio de Janeiro’s suburban daily life, Hip Hop culture and black music. Her foray into graffiti in 2016, coupled with her experience at Estúdio Escola de Animação, intimately fused her passion for digital and urban art. Using mainly digital techniques, her creations are an amalgam of collages, photographs, illustrations, animations and videos. Since 2020, Amora has participated in events dedicated to urban art, such as Rua Walls and the International Graffiti and Fine Art Biennial, having painted murals in various cities in Brazil and collaborated with artists, such as the artist duo OsGêmeos in 2023. In the field of illustration, her work gained prominence with the book “Tayó em Quadrinhos”, published by Editora Companhia de Letras. Her communication skills led her to take part in Google’s Black Creator Program and the Creators Agency in 2022, strengthening her connection with major brands. In addition to her artistic production, Amora has a keen interest in new technologies and is dedicated to the avatarization of her character, Amorinha, currently on show at the Social Crypto Arte gallery, run by the 2050 collective. Although she studied Art History and Sculpture at the School of Fine Arts (UFRJ), her interest in digital techniques led her to start a degree in Design at ESDI-UERJ, which she has not yet completed.
