Katharine Rogers is an award winning writer/director, crafting stories with humour and heart. A graduate of UTS (Master of Media Arts) Katharine has been working in the Australian screen industry for 20 years. Her award-winning films have screened at over 40 film festivals worldwide, had cinema distribution across the USA and were available to watch above the clouds on Virgin In-Flight Entertainment for two years.
She was a Digital Producer at the ABC for five years, writing, producing, and directing content for broadcast and online. During her time at the ABC, she created the smash-hit Story Salad podcast, as well as directing multiple on-air promos and a 20-episode series for ABC iView.
Alongside her filmmaking, Katharine mentors emerging talent. In 2024 she worked as a Screen Lecturer in the BA Production program at the Australian Film Television and Radio School, guiding graduating students through their final films, and has also tutored filmmakers at Bus Stop Films and JMC Academy. She was a mentor in the Women in Film and Television Australia Elevate program in 2024 and served as a Screen Mentor at SXSW Sydney in 2025.
In 2025, Katharine directed the documentary Unstoppable for Bus Stop Films, created an impact video for Digital Storytellers, and wrote, edited and presented three digital videos for ABC Kids about dyslexia.
