Biography
Glenn Jamon Dorsey (born August 1, 1985, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) is a former American professional football defensive tackle. Raised in nearby Gonzales, Louisiana, he starred at East Ascension High School before playing college football for the LSU Tigers (2004–2007). Dorsey became the most decorated defensive player in LSU history: a two-time first-team All-American (unanimous in 2007), two-time first-team All-SEC, and 2007 SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Despite playing through injuries, he won the Outland Trophy, Lombardi Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, and Lott Trophy in 2007—the only player ever to sweep all four—and helped lead LSU to the BCS National Championship. Selected fifth overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2008 NFL Draft, Dorsey played five seasons with Kansas City (2008–2012) and four with the San Francisco 49ers (2013–2016), appearing in 92 career games before retiring due to injuries. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2020 and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2021. Off the field, he has been involved with the Glenn Dorsey Foundation, which supports youth education, and has participated in animal welfare campaigns.
