moon is a jamaican-american filmmaker and author based in atlanta, originally from fort lauderdale, fl. she is best known for her viral, award-winning fantasy web series juju: the web series, which earned her the $100k comcast black experience on xfinity grant. her passion for storytelling has been a part of her since childhood, inspired by her love of fairy tales, fables, and folklore. since 2019, she has created and produced a variety of genre-spanning projects including robyn hood, starring gail bean (snowfall, p-valley), criblore, featuring terayle hill (cw’s all american) and brittany s. hall (hbo’s david makes man and ballers), and the newlyweds: blood at the altar, starring latoya tonodeo (power: book ii) and arlen escarpeta (nbc’s found, final destination 5). she is currently developing her debut feature film, skettel, a coming-of-age story about a jamaican-american single mother navigating motherhood, college, survival, and identity. it’s a semi-autobiographical account based on moon’s own experiences as a young mother raising a child with special needs who is fighting for self-preservation and her dreams. in the nonfiction space, she has contributed to acclaimed projects such as street food (netflix), the ultimatum: queer love (netflix), and emmy-award-winning the 1619 project (hulu), and produced the award-winning short documentary about nascar’s first black woman pit crew member, brehanna daniels. moon is also the author of the upcoming novelmercy, a supernatural fantasy set in a magical florida town where a burlesque dancer-turned-witch must confront her bloodline’s buried secrets and a vengeful vampire rising from the past. through film, fiction, and documentary, moon creates fantastical yet grounded worlds that focus on black voices and explore themes of legacy, identity, and resilience.
