Catho D'Souza is an Australian writer and director based in Sydney. She began her career in theatre, writing and directing the stage productions The Games We Play (2016), about the effects of drone warfare on civilians, and When We Meet Again (2017), about relationships between women who have experienced loss.
She studied at the University of Sydney and spent a year abroad at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, where she was a member of the Bruin Development Academy for Media and Entertainment.
Her short films as writer-director include Snow Pea (2022), which premiered at the Malibu International Film Festival, and I'd Never Date an Indian Girl (2025), which won the People's Choice and Best Actress awards at its premiere festival in New Zealand and had its Australian premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. I'm Still Here was selected as a finalist for Tropfest in 2026, and You Make Me Sick is scheduled to premiere the same year.
In 2023 D'Souza was named among ANZ's rising creatives by LBB Online, and in 2024 she was nominated for the B&T 30 Under 30 awards. At SXSW Sydney in 2025 she moderated a panel on representation in film and television and its effect on audience self-perception. She works with collaborators in Sydney and Los Angeles on films, music videos, online series and commercial content.
