Biography
Jackson Van Horn is a Japanese-American, award-winning director and producer, born in New York City and raised in The Bronx. He is the founder of Vanmoto Media, a global production company launched in 2022 that focuses on innovative, inclusive storytelling. Vanmoto has produced projects across the world, including the immersive short film So Far, So Good, starring Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam, It, Luca). The company has gained recognition throughout the industry for its bold and diverse creative vision. Jackson was awarded the Jon M. Chu APAA Award in both 2022 and 2024 for his contributions to Asian representation in entertainment. In 2023, Vanmoto was named a leader in inclusion at San Diego Comic-Con. At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Jackson’s short film Mother’s Love was featured in the Cannes Next Gen Showcase, hosted by the American Pavilion on the IndieWire Stage. Jackson began his film career working on an Emmy®-nominated New York City television show and has since directed and produced several award-winning projects featured in many festivals. He is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where he majored in Film and Television Production, and the USC Marshall School of Business, where he studied Entrepreneurship. His work centers on telling authentic, emotionally resonant stories that highlight underrepresented communities, explore mental health, and challenge societal norms. He is deeply committed to inclusion and has developed a comprehensive equity plan to ensure representation both on and off-screen across all of his projects.
