Biography
Tanya Roy is a Delhi-based independent curator, writer, and filmmaker. Her latest exhibition in collaboration with an independent film collective, BAND, “Lost in Longing: Introspecting on Intersecting Isolations,” was housed at Mool: Multidimensional Space and Art Collective and featured the works of 15 emerging and contemporary artists with experimental practices from Delhi. She has previously worked with Art Mumbai, Serendipity Arts Festival, and the Young Collectors Programme with India Art Fair. Having a background as a writer with her editorial work under Feminism In India and as a filmmaker with her film “Whose Party Is It, Anyway?,” her approach emphasizes the growing interconnection of the arts. She also founded and edited the independent zine, “Indian and Lesbian Zine,” which compiled and shared art and writing on the lesbian context from contributors within the Indian subcontinent.
