Anthony Hoffman is a South African film director and cinematographer. He has directed and shot dozens of commercials, TV show episodes, and film campaigns over his lengthy career. He directed the Sci-Fi action film Red Planet (2000) starring Val Kilmer. He has had a prolific career as a director and cinematographer, shooting award winning commercials and films campaigns across the globe, lived and worked in Italy and Shanghai for many years, his international experience working alongside many top flight actors and and athletes has garnered several Gold and Silver awards at Cannes Lions festival, The London Film Festival and the NY Clio Awards and ADDY awards and DGA nominations. Renowned for his bold visual style and deft storytelling skills he has been a staple of multiple Super Bowl commercials, including Budweiser's first iconic “Clydesdales football” which won the gold Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival and is part of a permanent collection at the New York Museum of Modern Art. his recent super bowl ad Fiat’s “Blue Pill” debuted at number one on the Super Bowl ad meter as did the "swat mom" for weather tech in 2022. A bold mix of action storytelling with a distinct cinematic flair has been his calling card. regarded as one of the top automotive directors in the world, creating campaigns for lamborghini, maserati, lexus, volvo cadillac mercedes AMG. Lexus and Ferrari amongst many others, clients entrusting him to evoke strong performances from actors the likes of Idris Elba, Benedict Cumberbatch, Antonio Banderas, Penelope Cruz, Patrick Dempsey, William Levy, David Beckham as well as some of the the biggest stars in Asia; Tony Leung, Edddie Peng, Fan Bing Bing, Karen Mok, Lin Chi Ling. He frequently collaborates with athletes such as Formula one world champions Fernando Alonzo to Michael Schumacher or international soccer campaigns for Nike and AT&T for the most recent world cup.
