Sean Burns is an Australian film director, screenwriter and producer. He is known as a co-founder of Sydney-based production company, Treason Flowers. The company has enjoyed substantial success in the Australian film industry, touring films around the country and screening with many film festivals and broadcast networks. He was born into a large Irish-Australian family on May 15 1994, the son of an English teacher and film historian. His father, who is staunchly anti-censorship, ran an underground piracy network in the 1990's, selling imported films which were banned in Australia. Sean drew much of his affinity with film from his father. His exposure to underground cinema from a young age gave him a unique insight into alternative modes of filmmaking and helped him foster a principle of creative individuality.
