Biography
Paula Pereira (Vigo, 1998) is a director, screenwriter and editor. Her work explores the construction of identity from a queer perspective, moving away from heteronormative narratives to give voice to other ways of feeling and inhabiting the body. In 2024 she received the audiovisual creation grant for the promotion of Galician talent from AGADIC with the project Algo novo que contar (currently in distribution and finalist for best short film at the Mestre Mateo), with which she obtained various recognitions both at regional and national level, including awards for best short film at festivals such as FICBUEU and XOCIVIGA. In the musical field, she directs and co-edits music videos for artists such as Sabela and María Escarmiento. The pieces Hi, My Love and Non cho podo dar were nominated for the Premios Mestre Mateo. She began her career in directing and writing short films, with initial works that received recognition at festivals such as the Festival de Cans and the OUFF.
