Hy Yanyan is a Chinese actress who graduated from the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Opera with a major in film and television performance. In her sophomore year, she participated in the seven-month casting process of the emerging director Ding Yu and was casted in director Ding Yu's independent film debut "Closer", and thus entered the entertainment industry.
In September 2023, she was nominated for the Best Actress in a Foreign Language Film at the Nice International Film Festival in France for "Closer".
