Manuel Herreros de Lemos (born 1956, Caracas, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan photographer and filmmaker. He is best known for Trans (1982), a short documentary co-directed with Venezuelan artist Mateo Manaure Arilla. Shot on 16mm in Caracas, the film portrays the lives and experiences of a group of trans women and travestis and is considered one of the earliest Venezuelan audiovisual works to address trans identities from an affirmative perspective. Trans premiered in Mérida in 1982 and was later screened at the Cinemateca Nacional de Venezuela in 1983 and, after remaining largely inaccessible for decades, was restored and digitized in recent years.
