Biography
Connor Raithby is a British filmmaker, screenwriter, director, event host, and singer known for his evocative visual style and emotionally charged storytelling. Based in the United Kingdom, Connor began his filmmaking career creating shorts on modest budgets, quickly gaining attention for his atmospheric approach to genre and personal, character-driven narratives. His breakout film, Hallucinations, was released to critical acclaim and became a festival favourite for its deep psychological exploration of grief and perception. Recognised for its compelling blend of surreal imagery and emotional honesty, it established Connor as a filmmaker with a bold creative vision. In 2023, Connor had an extremely successful year, starring in Netflix Sex Education Season 4, A Trainee Assistant Director on an Oscar Shortlisted Short Film called "GoodBoy" Written and Directed by Tom Stuart, an Art Department Assistant on "Save The Children TV Commercial" and finally a Production Assistant on "Heavyweight" a feature film Written and Directed by Christopher Anthony. Building on this success, Connor went on to write and direct Stapler, a darkly comedic drama that garnered multiple awards and further cemented his reputation on the international festival circuit. The film was praised for its inventive structure, striking visuals, and the standout performance of Jason Anthony - a frequent collaborator of Connor's. Their creative partnership has become a key feature of his most successful work, with Anthony often playing layered, compelling characters in Connor's films. Outside of filmmaking, Connor is also an accomplished event host and singer, known for his charismatic presence and smooth vocal style inspired by artists like Michael Bublé. He regularly performs at events and venues across the UK, blending crowd engagement with a classic, soulful sound that appeals to a broad audience. In 2025, following several years of balancing filmmaking with work as a pub manager, Connor transitioned into the creative industries full-time. He is now developing a range of new projects which reflects his ongoing interest in stories that mix human emotion with bold conceptual ideas. With an expanding body of award-winning work, a trusted circle of collaborators, and a growing presence in both film and live entertainment, Connor Raithby is firmly establishing himself as a versatile and distinct voice in contemporary filmmaking and performance.
