Evgeny Georgievich Popov is a Russian politician, journalist and a deputy of the 8th State Duma.
He was included by the Security Service of Ukraine on the list of individuals banned from entering Ukrainian territory.[19]
Since February 24, 2022, due to his support for Russian aggression and the violation of Ukraine's territorial integrity during the Russian-Ukrainian war, he has been under personal international sanctions imposed by 27 European Union countries. He was also included in Canada's "regime associates" sanctions list for "voting in favor of recognizing the so-called republics in Donetsk and Luhansk as independent."
