Scarlett Islas is an award-winning director and a remarkable individual who has carved her own unique path in life, embracing her diverse talents and pursuing her passions with unwavering determination. Born as a first-generation Mexican American, Scarlett's journey has been shaped by her heritage and the vibrant experiences that come with it.
Having initially established herself as an NDT Inspector in the petrochemical field and transitioning to the aerospace industry as an Eddy Current Array specialist for the development of advanced inspection systems at SpaceX, Scarlett's adventurous spirit eventually led her to embark on a transformative career change. With a burning desire to express herself creatively and help others find their voices, she took a leap of faith and transitioned into the world of acting.
Driven by her passion for storytelling, Scarlett founded her own film production company called Rebellatrix Anima (Rebellious Soul). Through this venture, she has learned every aspect of filmmaking such as directing, producing, writing, cinematography, and video editing to help empower artists to bring their visions to life through the medium of film.
In 2023, Scarlett released her first documentary and film project, "Changing Lives - The Acting Class That Changed Her Life," which garnered critical acclaim and earned her a bronze Telly Award. This recognition has solidified her status as an award-winning director.
Guided by her own experiences of pain and personal growth, she recognized the transformative power that acting has on the soul and sought to channel her emotions into her creative endeavors not just for herself but to help give back to others.
