Biography
Jacob Huff is an independent filmmaker, writer, and editor known for character-driven stories with a touch of mystery. He began his formal education in filmmaking at SAIL High School in Tallahassee, Florida, where he took video production courses, served as a teacher’s aide, and created the class of 2015 senior video. After high school, he attended Tallahassee State College before moving to Orlando, Florida, where he attended Valencia College, earning an AA while taking additional film courses. He enrolled in the University of Central Florida to continue his film studies in 2025. Huff’s work spans writing, directing, and editing, with occasional acting and stagecraft experience. His independent productions are primarily created in Florida and often explore grounded, emotionally resonant characters and narratives. His storytelling has been influenced by filmmakers such as Kevin Smith and Clint Eastwood, as well as artists outside of cinema including Donald Glover, A$AP Rocky, and Kurt Cobain. His projects include The Forest Sage (2021), a short precursor to Purgatorio, and Inferno (2025), part of an ongoing film cycle inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. He also produces video essays and athletic highlight reels on his YouTube channel. Huff’s films have screened at festivals such as Shock Fest (2022) and frequently feature recurring collaborators including Gregory J. Douglas, John Michael, and his girlfriend Veronica Suarez.
