Noah Labranche

Acting

Biography
While seeking a career behind the camera as a director, studying Media Studies at John Abbott College and doing a year of Film Studies at Concordia University, Noah Labranche wanted to have a better understanding of how to properly communicate with his actors. Believing that the best way to learn to direct was to experience the other side, he took his first leap into acting in AlienCat Production's play Mostly Scripted (Montreal Fringe Festival 2016). Having enjoyed the experience, Noah took a second, bigger leap; he auditioned and was accepted into Concordia University's Acting for the Theatre program, where his passion for acting fully came to life. His calling became clear. While studying at Concordia, he performed in two of the school's mainstage shows: as Clitandre in Moliere's The Learned Ladies and as an ensemble member in Maric at the Lake, an original piece directed by Cathia Pagotto. At the same time, he worked in a smattering of student films, as well as a collection of scenes focusing on stage combat with an emphasis on rapier and unarmed fighting directed and choreographed by Jean-François Gagnon with support from Robert Montcalm. In this latter piece, Noah was able to combine his love of acting with his love of martial arts, having studied Karate and Kajukenbo as a teen, and currently practicing MMA. His other passions include drumming, writing, cycling, driving, cooking, photography, cinematography, and staying active in a multitude of ways.
