Biography
Diana Foronda is an award-winning filmmaker based in New York. Throughout her years in the film industry, she worked as a Set PA for several short films, web series, and TV networks, including CBS, HGTV, and CNBC. Diana’s films and scripts have been recognized worldwide (including Academy Award qualifying) and won 20+ awards. With its successful festival run, her award-winning horror/sci-fi short screenplay, CANDYBYTE, was ranked on the 2023 Coverfly’s RED List for Horror Shorts. Her comedy short screenplay, DANCING QUEENS, which is loosely based on a true story, was ranked on the 2025 Coverfly’s RED List for Comedy Shorts and have been placed in competitive screenwriting labs such as: Outstanding Screenplay, Vail Film Festival Screenplay Contest, Inroads Fellowship, Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, and Nashville Screenplay Competition. Her professional journey is marked by diverse experiences that showcase her versatility and adaptability. She has worked at various film companies, including Pano (formerly NYC Women Filmmakers), Left/Right LLC, and Imagine Entertainment. Additionally, she served as a pre-screener for numerous prestigious film festivals across America. Currently, Diana is a co-founder of The Film Nerd Challenges, an independent, out-of-pocket weekend film challenge that creates short films over 48 hours. She’s the 2025 REME Award Recipient at the Revolution Me Film Festival, which recognizes filmmakers who go beyond their craft to uplift others and contribute to the community. Diana is a firm believer in giving back to her film community by offering internships to current film students from her alma mater and by supporting her colleagues and their projects. Diana has trained with Sundance Co//ab, NYU Tisch Film & TV Industry Essentials, Manhattan Edit Workshop, and USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts.
