Biography
John Field Brown is a 21-year-old filmmaker and videographer from Austin, TX, currently pursuing a BFA in Film Production at Texas State University. Since 2021, he has built an extensive resume, working on over 60 sets in both the Production and Grip & Electric Departments on narrative, commercial, and corporate projects for notable companies such as Vanishing Angle, FOX Sports, WarnerMedia, and UPROXX. He has also worked on set under credible filmmakers such as Carlota Pereda ("THE EDGE OF NORMAL" -- XYZ Films & Vanishing Angle), Bryan Poyser ("LEADS" -- Tribeca Premiere 2025), and Chris Beier ("THE EGO DEATH OF QUEEN CECILIA" -- Austin Film Festival 2024). John has written, directed, produced, and edited six of his own short films, "YER SMACKIN" being his latest. His short films have gone on to screen at reputable film festivals such as Film Shortage, Waco Independent Film Festival, El Paso Film Festival, and San Antonio Film Festival, as well as winning "Best Student Film" at the 2025 Prison City Film Festival. John's achievements also include multiple wins for Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editor, and Best Young Filmmaker. As John continues to pursue a career in film producing and directing, he established his own production company, FieldFilms, in early 2023 to provide a dedicated platform for showcasing his current and future portfolio of narrative, commercial, and corporate work.
