Biography
Aimee Pham is a Vietnamese American writer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Place to Be, a feature script she co-wrote with her writing & directing partner Kai Sampadian, was a selection on the 2025 Black List, an annual survey that compiles the industry’s favorite unproduced screenplays of the year. In 2023, Aimee’s short film House Rules premiered at the Seattle Asian American Film Festival, where it won the Audience Choice Award for Favorite Narrative Short and later screen at numerous film festivals across the United States, including the Brooklyn Museum in honor of Asian American Heritage Month. Aimee was also the writers’ assistant for season 1 of I Love LA, an HBO comedy series created by and starring Rachel Sennott, and previously worked in development with Lulu Wang and Dani Melia at their production company Local Time (The Farewell, Expats). With a passion for creating narratives that balance humor and heart, Aimee strives to tell resonant stories that place women at the forefront, center on relationships and family dynamics, and illuminate the complexities of identity and our connections to one another.
