Biography
Andrus Albrecht (also used the stage name Bonzo; born August 2, 1973) is an Estonian singer, guitarist, songwriter and actor. Albrecht got the name Bonzo in the late 1980s in Rakvere, working as a drummer in the punk band Alice Tisler, because his playing style was similar to Led Zeppelin's drummer John Bonham, aka Bonzo. He has worked at Rakvere Theater as a stagehand, sound director, and also played minor roles. Albrecht started writing and recording his own compositions in 2004, having released 8 CDs by now. He sings blues, folk, and jazz.Since 2012, Albrecht has been active as a member of the band Kõrsikud. He has acted in the student film Codex Gigas (2012). In the semi-finals of the singing competition Eesti Laul 2023, the duet Bonzo and Linalakk performed the song "Aeg". In 2021, Andrus Albrecht opened the Japanese food restaurant Bonzai in Rakvere.
