Biography
As the grandson of a documentary filmmaker and photographer, Sandro was exposed to visual storytelling at an early age. While attending the College of Art and Design in Zurich and working as a production & casting assistant in various film productions, he began directing his films. He has been studying directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy since 2018 and is was in Seoul at the Korean National University of Arts to deepen his directing skills. For his latest commercial film, he got awarded numerous awards. Next to a Staff Pick on Vimeo, he received a Young Director Award in Cannes, an 1.4 Award in London, a Golden German Advertising Film, Spotlight and ADC Award. He was also nominated a new directing talent by the Ciclope Awards in Berlin. His latest short film, funded by ARTE & SWR, premiered at the Hof International Film Festival, is being shown on television and at film festivals across Europe and was nominated for the German Short Film Award.
