George Iordanidis (June 21, 1921 - June 23, 2005) was born in Eskisehir (ancient Dorylaion) in Asia Minor. His parents are Ioannis Iordanidis and Ermioni Hatzopoulou – Iordanidis. With the Asia Minor Disaster of 1922, his parents immigrated to Egypt (Cairo), where his mother's siblings were already settled.
