Biography
Souzan Alavi (Persian: سوزان علوی; born November 12, 1978, in Babol, Iran) is a German actress, singer, dancer, voice-over artist, and instructor in dance, vocals, and acting. Born in Iran to a Persian engineer and a German ballet dancer, Souzan Alavi moved to Germany in the 1980s, arriving via Denmark. While still in school, she completed a classical ballet education at her mother's dance academy. Subsequently, she studied acting, singing, and dance at the Stage School in Hamburg, graduating with a diploma in 1999. Alavi achieved her first major stage successes performing in several roles in the musical *Cats* in Stuttgart. She gained nationwide recognition in 2003 as a finalist on the RTL II casting show *Fame Academy – Der Weg zum Ruhm* (The Road to Fame). Following this, she took on the role of Sina Achterberg in the ARD television series *Marienhof* and appeared in numerous film, television, and short film productions. Since 2005, she has also worked as a professional voice-over artist for dubbing, documentaries, commercials, audio dramas, and video games. Alongside her work in front of the camera, she co-developed the comedy format *Home Schiet Home* for the channel Hamburg 1 in 2011, together with Patrice Ötvös and Thomas Schwieger. Furthermore, she has worked for many years as an instructor in dance, vocals, and acting. In 2015, she founded her own musical theater school for children and teenagers, named "Fame Academy."
