Biography
Jeremy Vella is a young, passionate filmmaker from the island of Malta. His professional career began in 2017 as he worked on the 2018 feature film "Ħabbilni Ħa Nirbaħ", directed by Mario Azzopardi and Produced by Michael Kissaun. Jeremy has since worked on multiple different film productions, such as Feature Films, Commercials, Short Films, Music Videos and Documentaries. In 2018 and 2019, Jeremy traveled up to Tromsø, Norway to write and direct 2 short films; "To Ellie" and "The Postman". Also his 2019 Film: "Notes" starring veteran Maltese actor Narcy Calamatta made it into the official selection of the Nordic Youth Film Festival, Prague Teen Film Fest and the Malta Youth Film Festival. In 2020 his film "Orrajt" (English Title: "Alright") won Best Picture, Best Acting, Best Storytelling and the Audience Engagement award at the Malta Youth Film Festival. Best Fictional Short at the Zero Degree Film Festival (india) and Best Actress in a Comedy at the Iminese Independent Film Festival (Milan, Italy).
