Biography
Wesley Armstrong is a filmmaker whose storytelling style blends the superhero, animé, and comedy genres, a combination shaped by his childhood in Japan with his Marine Corps mom. A graduate of Sony TV's Diverse Directors Program, he has extensively shadowed directors on shows such as “New Girl” and “Saved By The Bell”, and has had short films supported by Warner Bros., Paramount, Lakeshore Entertainment, and more. Wes has directed commercials for major brands including Allstate and Dreyer’s Ice Cream, and is represented as a commercial director by Tool of North America and Hummingbird Content Studio. For the web, he has directed over $4 million of branded entertainment for brands such as Lyft and T-Mobile, and has amassed 3 million social media followers along the way, being named a "game-changing influencer" by Bloomberg Magazine, and earning a nomination for the Streamy Award for Best Director. At the end of 2024, Wesley officially became a Directors Guild of America member. Outside of directing, Wesley is also an actor and a voice actor, recently starring in the #1 film on BET+. Most recently, Wes directed Kevin Hart’s Masterclass, and his short film, Vigilante, premiered at the American Black Film Festival, and will be available to watch on American Airlines flights beginning this Spring.
