Biography
Alexander G. Piñeiro is an American Actor and Director born and bred in New York City. Raised by artists of Puerto Rican descent, He is the first in his family to build a career in performing arts, his versatility and dedication to his craft have earned him a loyal following and critical acclaim. He is the first in his family to build a career in performing arts. Alex plays "Sol" a major recurring character in the 2023 AppleTV+ series City on Fire. This show is a coming-of-age drama set in 2003 New York City that revolves around the unsolved shooting of a student in Central Park. It weaves together mysterious citywide fires, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family fraying under the strain of the secrets they keep. From Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the Executive Producers of Gossip Girl and The O.C. His self-directed short film, Retribution, was nominated for multiple festival awards such as the Orlando Film Festival. From that moment on Alex knew he had a hidden talent to craft stories and direct them. His following film, Rebellious 8 has been nominated for Best Film in festivals such as the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival (2023), Philadelphia Indie Film Festival (2023), and Latino Film Market Festival (2023) Alex caught the bug for the arts while teaching as a camp counselor at an after-school program where he taught students the basics of video production and screenwriting. Eventually co-directing theatrical productions starring the camp students thus discovering his passion for the arts. He then decided to study for his BA in Production. Alex landed his first major TV role in the Discovery series, Street Justice: The Bronx. Other recent credits for Alex include the long-running show Law and Order: SVU and Dr. Death.
