Barbiea originally is from Overland, Missouri. She graduated from Westminster Christian Academy in 2009 and received a bachelor's degree in fine arts, with an emphasis in acting, from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2012. In addition to studying acting at NYU's Atlantic Studio, she also was selected to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
