Launching her filmmaking career in midlife, Katie's deeply lived and well-examined life has developed her into a rich storyteller. Filmmaking is the perfect culmination of her degree in English, her 20 years as a portrait photographer, and her experience raising four children. She also attributes grief to launching her career because of how it can cut through the noise and force us to find what really matters in life.
Her first short film, “Front Porches,” (2020) was inspired by her experience of caring for her mother after a diagnosis of early-onset dementia. Since, she's made an award willing mini web series, "Gamer" (2022-2024) before moving on to her first feature film, "Wake Up Maggie." (2026)
Katie was recently awarded the opportunity to participate in the Sundance Collab, The Bridge cohort in Portland, OR and is proud to be an Oregon actor/filmmaker. When she's not acting or directing, you'll find her practicing yoga, hiking in the PNW with friends, traveling, writing, and probably refilling her coffee.
