Biography
Ángeles Reiné is a screenwriter and director from Cádiz, Spain. Trained at the London Film School, she boasts an international career spanning over thirty years. A member of the Spanish and Andalusian Film Academies, as well as the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Cádiz, she has gained recognition as the writer and director of the feature films “So My Grandma’s a Lesbian!” (Salir del ropero), which premiered at Seminci (2019), and “Full of Grace” (Héroes de Barrio), premiered at the Málaga Film Festival (2022). Both titles are currently available on major global platforms such as Netflix, HBO, and Movistar. Her professional career took off in the advertising industry, where she directed over 200 commercials, earning awards at prestigious festivals including San Sebastián, FIAP, New York, and Chicago. As a versatile filmmaker, she has written, directed, and produced internationally successful short films such as “Ready to Talk”, which was selected for the Cannes Short Film Corner and distributed by the French company Origine Films. With experience directing television series (e.g., Doctor Mateo) and a solid technical background in cinematography and camera work from her early years, she balances her creative projects with mentoring at CIMA 10 and serving as a script reader for the Lola Salvador Award (DAMA). Her upcoming feature film script, “We Are Not Alone” (No estamos solos), is currently in the final financing stage and is scheduled for production later this year.
