Biography
Joby Stephens is an English film director, producer, writer, and editor, having completed his feature directorial debut, Abandoned - an ambitious independent production now in post-production. His early career includes Project One (co-directed with Adam Kirley), the acclaimed short Skin Deep, and the award-winning action short Rogue Trooper: The Quartz Massacre, which received critical praise with Joby serving as producer. He was also Producer and 1st AD on School Fight hailed as “the most ambitious British indie ever made” helping guide the project to acquisition by MARV Films before its festival debut. More recently, Joby Stephens has established himself in the horror genre with the internationally screened shorts Within and Origin, both of which he co-wrote and directed. Origin collected multiple awards and nominations on the festival circuit, including Best Horror Short and Best Young Actress of the Year at IndieX LA, ranking in the top 2.6% of 2,678 films worldwide.
