Samo Rafael, also known as Samodra Angkasa Putro (born March 1, 1995), is an Indonesian actor, model, and musician. He grew up and lives in Jakarta. He began his career as a model, then became a musician, and later transitioned into acting.
Samo Rafael has a younger sister who is also widely known, Mutiara Hazle. He has Indonesian heritage from his father, Untung Suwarto, and Scottish heritage from his mother, Frances Hazle. Samo Rafael is known to be a Protestant Christian, and he previously studied at Pelita Harapan University.
He is the lead vocalist of the jazz fusion band Macadamia Nutcrackers. In 2013, he joined the band Gemalara and released three singles: “Di Wajahmu Kulihat Bulan”, “Gemuruh”, and “Sepi”.
Samo Rafael has also released several solo songs, including “Life's A Pirouette”, which reflects on life being like a pirouette, “Milky”, and his most recent single “Circles”, which tells the story of the endlessly spinning life in Jakarta.
