Biography
Gui Araponga is a Brazilian filmmaker, screenwriter and producer with 11 years of experience in the audiovisual field. A graduate in Brazilian Literature from UFV, with further training in filmmaking and television writing, his work moves across cinema, television, documentary and advertising. He has written and directed four short films, a medium-length film, a TV episode and over 40 branded films. His works have received 65 awards and screened at more than 150 festivals in 42 countries, including the Gramado Film Festival, the Brasília Film Festival and the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, where he received a Silver Remi Award. His new short film, Encontro e Despedida, starring José de Abreu and inspired by his relationship with his father, was completed in 2026 and is currently being submitted to film festivals.
