Biography
Chip Love is a West Texas banker and local actor best known for his small but memorable appearance in No Country for Old Men. A long-time resident of Marfa, where he serves as president of the Marfa National Bank, Love was cast as a travelling salesman who crosses paths with Javier Bardem’s cold-blooded hitman on a desolate highway. His brief role became a fan favourite, thanks to his lone line, “What’s this about?”, delivered just moments before the character meets his fate. Known in real life for being warm, direct, and down-to-earth, Love’s involvement in the film reflects the strong connection between Hollywood and the Marfa region, a place whose stark landscapes and unique light have drawn filmmakers for decades.
