Biography
Vicente Quintero was born in Boconó, Trujillo State. He began his studies in the performing arts in 2003 at A Teatro (formerly AVEPROTES) and later continued his training at Noel De la Cruz’s Compañía Internacional de Teatro Prometeo. Throughout his career, he has performed in numerous theatrical projects, including Hamlet Involución directed by Jesús Carreño, Los Luceros directed by Jennifer Morales, Pueblo de Fieras directed by Orlando Arocha, Desplazados directed by Somar Toro, and his own self-authored solo piece, El Juicio del Minotauro. In 2020, he won the Relatos del Ostracismo International Playwriting Competition for his play La Última Sonata. His extensive film career is highlighted by his leading role in the film El Amparo, directed by Rober Calzadilla. The film earned the Audience Award at the Biarritz Festival in France and a Goya Award nomination in Spain. For his performance, Quintero was named Best Leading Actor at the Mérida National Film Festival and received a nomination for Best Leading Actor at the ACACV Awards. Additionally, he served as both an actor and casting assistant for the film La Familia, directed by Gustavo Rondón and selected as Venezuela’s official entry for the Academy Awards. His film credits also include the feature film Un País Imaginario Donde Los Perros Comen Flores directed by Alan Ohep (currently in post-production), the medium-length film Levítame directed by Rober Calzadilla (post-production), and the short films Dogma directed by Dennys Rodríguez and Duelo directed by María Ruiz.
