Biography
Duncan Foster is a veteran British television director with more than 25 years in the industry and over 500 episodes of continuing drama to his name. He began his career on the Yorkshire magazine show Tonight in the late 1990s before moving into drama directing. Foster has been a core director on Emmerdale since 2001 and Coronation Street since 2002. He has become particularly associated with Emmerdale’s major stunt sequences, directing some of the show’s most high-profile set-pieces, including the King’s River house explosion, the Woolpack siege, the Hotten Bypass crash, and serial killer Meena Jutla's stunt week featuring the maze fire and waterfall disaster. He also helmed Coronation Street: Out of Africa (2018) and the 2026 crossover special Corriedale. Beyond his long-running ITV soap work, Foster has directed episodes of EastEnders, Hollyoaks, The Royal, World’s End, Benidorm, The Dumping Ground, and Casualty.
