Biography
Sandy was brought up in the east coast of Scotland before training at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Since then he has enjoyed working in theatres around the country playing a variety of roles.Most recently he performed as First Soldier and Cassio understudy in Othello, directed by Nic Hytner and Sergeant Conrad in The Captain of Kopenick, directed by Adrian Noble both for the National Theatre. Previously to this he played the Boatswain in The Tempestdirected by Adrian Noble, Brodie in The Real Thing directed by Kate Saxon and Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk directed by Andrew Panton. in Perth Theatre. From 2009 – 2011 Sandy performed at Pitlochry Festival Theatre playing Dr Johnston in Dr Angelus, Bo Decker in Bus Stop,Steven Flowers in Privates on Parade, Freddy Eynsford-hill in My Fair Lady, Bill Calhoun in Kiss Me Kate, Sergeant Odd in Whisky Galore – A Musical! and Prince Charlemagne in Cinderella directed by John Durnin, Ken Alexander and Richard Barron. He has also played Scarecrow in The Citizens Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz Directed by Guy Hollands and Andrew Panton.Film and Radio credits include Angus Crombie in Our World War for BBC3, Private McGregor in Magic Grandad for BBC1and Watty in Silver Bullet for BBC Radio 4.
