Biography
Björn Olsson, born 19 August 1963 in Partille, Sweden, is a Swedish composer, guitarist, music producer, and multi‑genre musician. He first emerged in the 1980s as a founding member of the influential rock band Union Carbide Productions and later became a key guitarist and creative force in The Soundtrack of Our Lives, contributing to their early recordings and international tours. As a solo artist, Olsson has released instrumental and melodic works blending pop, folk, and psychedelic influences, and he continues to craft music that reflects his wide‑ranging artistic vision. Outside his solo work, he is highly regarded as a producer and collaborator, having worked with Swedish artists including Håkan Hellström—co‑writing and producing on several of Hellström’s albums—and bands like Mando Diao. In addition to his pop and rock contributions, Olsson has composed original scores for film and television. He received a nomination for Best Original Music at the Guldbagge Awards in 2016 for his score for Jätten. Olsson’s influence in the Swedish music scene spans decades, blending performance, composition, and production across a range of styles from indie rock to cinematic soundscapes
