Biography
Aboobacker Amani is an Indian Islamic scholar, entrepreneur, journalist, editor of four journals, including an international journal. He is a member of the advisory board of the Arakkal Museum and its current director of Research and Development, and he is the founder of various organizations and companies including, Quba Trust. Amani is one of the signatories of "A Common Word Between Us and You", an open letter by Islamic scholars to Christian leaders, calling for peace and understanding. He is a specialist in two major Sunni schools, Shafi'i and Hanafi, with an emphasis on the Shafi'i Madhhab. The major Muslims in India are following the Hanafi and Shafi'i Madhhabs. Amani was born as Muhammed Aboobacker to Muslim scholars in Kerala. He enrolled the Al Maqar in 2011 and graduated two years later with a bachelor's degree, also called Amani, in Islamic Studies and earned his master's in Islamic studies and Theology in 2014 from the Jamia Markaz.
