Biography
Stephen Rigg has built a diverse body of work across film, television, music and documentary. Beginning his career during the formative years of commercial video and later developing his craft under independent film pioneers Lloyd Kaufman and Mike Figgis, he has gone on to direct short films, music videos, live concert films, television commercials, viral campaigns, feature-length documentaries and feature films. To date, he has written, produced or directed more than 20 films. Rigg has also produced over 70 episodes of Kubrick’s Universe, interviewing almost 100 people who worked directly with Stanley Kubrick across every film in the director’s career. These conversations have uncovered a wealth of rarely heard, behind-the-scenes stories and personal insights into Kubrick and his working methods, with guests including Malcolm McDowell, Keir Dullea and Shelley Duvall. To move on to a feature documentary focused on the director was a natural progression. His latest film is Kubrick's War: The Making of Full Metal Jacket.
