Biography
He was born in Lima (Peru) on May 21, 1952. He obtained Spanish Nationality in May 1982. Edgar Saba completed his school studies at the Jesuit school in Peru. In 1969 he entered the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru where he studied Humanities, specializing in Linguistics and Literature, Performing Arts and Law. In 1976 he received a scholarship from the British Council of England - for four years - at the renowned Drama Center London where he graduated as a Stage Director and Playwright. In his last year, he wrote the film script “Land of Foxes” produced by the Center National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) of France, moving to Paris. In London he met Elishabeth de Muinck, known as Els Vandel, a Dutch actress, with whom he later married and they would have their only two children: Adrián Saba, filmmaker, screenwriter and director; and Nuria Saba, composer and singer-songwriter. He stood out as founder and director of the Lima International Film Festival for twenty years.
