Biography
Texas Terri (born as Terri Laird on April 6, 1955, in Austin, Texas, USA) is an American punk rock singer, songwriter, and actress. She began her music career in Hollywood, California, where she founded the band The Killer Crows in 1984. After their dissolution, she formed Texas Terri & The Stiff Ones, with whom she released the album Eat Shit in 1998. She later changed the band name to Texas Terri Bomb! and released the album Your Lips... My Ass!, produced by Jack Douglas with a guest appearance by Wayne Kramer of MC5. She was often compared to Wendy O. Williams and gained cult status through her energetic and provocative stage performances. In addition to her music career, Texas Terri was also active as an actress and took on various roles in film productions. She appeared in 8mm (1999) as Dino’s Redhead, in Starforce (2000) as Tattooed Woman, and in Hellbent (2004) as Tattoo Shop Woman. Her other film appearances include Shark in a Bottle (1999), I Pass for Human (2004), and Klappe Cowboy! (2012). In 2007, Texas Terri moved to Berlin, Germany, where she remained musically active. She is a defining figure of the underground punk scene and is known for her uncompromising stage presence and unmistakable style.
