Barun Sobti was born on 21 August 1984 in Delhi, India, into a Punjabi family. He is known for his grounded personality and private nature despite his fame. He married his longtime girlfriend Pashmeen Manchanda in 2010. In 2019, the couple welcomed their daughter, making him a devoted family man alongside his professional life.Before entering the entertainment industry, Sobti worked for nearly seven years as an operations manager at Jindal Telecom, which reflects his practical and disciplined background.Barun Sobti began his acting career in 2009 with Shraddha as Swayam Khurana. He then appeared in a memorable cameo as Dr. Raj in the highly popular medical drama Dill Mill Gayye, where his performance gained significant attention. In 2010, he played Shravan Jaiswal in Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, which established him as a promising romantic lead.His life-changing breakthrough came in 2011 with the role of Arnav Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. His portrayal of the intense, emotionally conflicted business tycoon turned him into a household name across India and internationally, especially among global Indian TV audiences. The show remains one of the most iconic romantic dramas in Indian television history. He returned to the franchise in 2017 with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3, playing a darker version of the same character, also known as Dev Kashyap.
