Ayaka Yamashita (山下 綾佳, Yamashita Ayaka) is a Japanese dancer, stage actress, and assistant director who has built a solid career in Japan's performing arts and idol entertainment industries.
She began her professional journey as an official cheerleader for the Chiba Jets basketball team (2012–2013) before transitioning into a sought-after commercial dancer. Throughout her career, she has performed on major stages, including the prestigious New Year's Eve TV special NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen, and in massive live concerts for renowned artists like the rock band GLAY. She has also served as a choreography leader and backup dancer for top-tier idol groups under legendary producer Yasushi Akimoto, including Hinatazaka46.
A major milestone came in 2019 when she was cast as a vital member of the ensemble in the Nogizaka46 Musical Version of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. This high-profile production allowed her to showcase her talents not only in Tokyo but also to international audiences during its Shanghai tour.
In recent years, Yamashita has successfully transitioned into production and creative roles behind the scenes. She actively balances acting with her work as an assistant stage director and choreography assistant, regularly collaborating with prominent theater companies, various Hello! Project groups (such as Tsubaki Factory and Ocha Norma), and NGT48. On a personal note, she announced her marriage in early 2026 and continues to be highly active in the theater industry.
