Biography
Aileen Tan is one of the most recognisable faces on television, having been in the entertainment industry for more than 2 decades. As the first runner-up as well as Miss Photogenic of the first Star Search 1988, Aileen proves to be a versatile actress who handles diverse roles with competence. In 1994, Aileen was nominated for the Best Actress Award in the Magnolia (Baihua) Awards if China for her role in The Blazing Trail as an undercover cop. In 2001, Aileen bagged the Best Actress Award at Star Awards, an annual award ceremony for TV personalities, for her outstanding performance in the Chinese drama, 3 Women and A Half. The same year, Aileen made her first crossover to English Drama in the award-winning local drama series, Growing up. Her other English production includes Red Thread, where she acted with Adrian Pang. Aileen’s passion can be seen in the zest she puts in to other aspects of work besides acting. She is a competent compere for Chinese variety shows and has also dabbled in theatre in the Toy Factory production, where she played a coquettish woman in I Have A Date With Spring. In 2013, Aileen won the Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Asian Television Awards for her outstanding performance in The Day It Rained on our Parade. In 2016, she had her first leading role in the movie Long Long Time Ago and Long Long Time Ago 2. In 2017, Aileen won the Best Supporting Actress at Star Awards for her stella performance in Hero and 2019, she once again won recognition for her role in 'You Can Be an Angel 3' with a nomination at Star Awards.
