Acting

Biography
Hana Rebecca Hatae (born July 15, 1988, in Tarzana, California) is an American actress best known for her role as Molly O'Brien in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She first appeared as the character in the TNG episode "Rascals" and later appeared in 11 episodes of DS9 between 1993 and 1999. Hatae started acting at a young age. She shared that she was very young when she got the role and didn't have a clear memory of her early experiences on the show. She recalls her time on DS9 fondly, especially episodes like "If Wishes Were Horses," where she was scared by a character, and "Time's Orphan," which involved some memorable outdoor scenes. After Star Trek, Hatae stepped away from acting, involving herself in music and sports, including roller hockey and violin. Her family also operated a well-known Japanese restaurant in Southern California. Hatae made her first official convention appearance at a Star Trek convention years after the show ended. Aside from acting, she enjoys activities like rock climbing and has plans to study psychology. She has a warm connection to the cast members, especially Rosalind Chao and Colm Meaney, who played her on-screen parents. Besides Star Trek, she has limited other credits including an appearance on Family Matters. She also featured as herself on a Gordon Ramsay "Kitchen Nightmares" episode featuring her family's restaurant.
